With a brilliant prompt from interior designer Shonna Sexton, I had the fortune of designing and building all of the pieces in this Nashville Gulch vacation home. We really got outside the box with this one, especially on the torched oak wine rack, and curved patina coffee table.
Mid century modern / warm industrial home furniture. Walnut, and oak. Mortise and tenon. Simple and solid.
My first furniture piece back in 2011. The top, an original prototype from the Frothy Monkey; reclaimed from the clients grandfather's barn. Paired with some air dried walnut legs, and ash skirt this thing is fun. Complete with a manila rope hanging remote control shelf, and dowel construction.
Large console for a large room. 5'x9' floating walnut console. Held up with french cleats this thing is sleek but hearty. Push button drop down cubby doors house sound equipment.
Mid Century inspired solid walnut T.V. console. Slab top complete with waterfall joint.
Not quite floating shelves for your bar, or kitchen. Hardwood walnut sticks held up with painted angle iron. Plenty sturdy for 40 coffee mugs, and 40 coffee beans.
Warm industrial coffee table - marrying a 10" I-Beam cantilevered under a solid 5/4" walnut top.
I don't build with reclaimed wood much, but when a friend inherits beams from their grandfathers barn and wants to keep them close I'll make something happen. Side board entry table here with some fun mortise and tenon joinery. Complete with an 18" long bolt to hold the top together. This thing can be broke down and flat packed with a hammer and a wrench, then reassembled and run over by a dump truck. My second furniture piece I built and still on of my favorites.
